Your team-mates keep telling us how mad you are. Is this true? I'm not sure, I just try and be myself. I think it's quite important to have a bit of humour in the dressing room because it's a long season and I try to keep people going. What do you like to do when you're not playing cricket? | | Havell takes a wicket |
For the last four years I've gone back to Melbourne and for three of those years I was playing cricket out there. I like to chill out, watch a few DVDs, have a few drinks and sometimes I go and see my brother down in Brighton. He's a fireman and we don't get to see each other much during the summer so it's nice to see him. What music are you into? A bit of U2, Bon Jovi and then obviously when I've got the women around I'll slam on the Take That or Boyzone album to keep the girls happy. I don't mind a bit of dance music - I'll bust a few moves on the dancefloor! Ant Botha told us you're a bit of a ladies man. Is that true? | | Ant Botha |
I think Ant's a bit of a ladies man himself! We all reckon he looks a bit like Inigo Idiakez from Derby County so when we're out we try and play on that a bit. But I wouldn't say I was too much of a womaniser - it's not my fault if the chicks chat me up when I'm out is it? Are you into movies? Yes I am although I haven't been to the pictures much lately. I particularly like Tom Cruise, a lot of his films are interesting and quite cool. I also like a bit of comedy - I think Ben Stiller is absolutely hilarious. One of the favourite films in the dressing room at the moment is Dodgeball which he stars in. We've been trying to emulate the Dodgeball games in training but it's not been going too well! So what does the future hold for you? Well I'm 24 at the moment, going on 30. I've got a one-year contract here at Derby so I know it's a massive year for me. David Houghton's trying to instill a performance-related culture here and if you don't perform you're out but I think I'm up to the challenge. Are you happy with your life in Derbyshire? Yes very. I moved up here in 2003 and I'm happy in Derby - I think it's an up-and-coming place with a lot of things happening and I think Derbyshire as a club has a lot to prove this season. |
