Co-operative climate
By some amazing stroke of luck, the weather behaved itself. If this kind of thing is planned in advance, the weather would normally screw it up. We decided to just sneak up on the elements and this tactic worked. Glorious sunshine for three days. The worst problems we encountered with the elements were strong winds on Roa Island and the constant demand for food from Suzanne's stomach. A mountain of images Cumbria - full of mountains and lakes. Very photogenic. However, that's not where most of us live. We took over 300 digital photographs of places and people from Walney to Carlisle. All of these images were then catalogued when we returned to base.
Then they were catalogued again - this time in a sensible way. We use our library every day - using existing pictures for news stories or features and adding new images as we take them.
The great thing about digital photography is that you can snap away without worrying about wasting film. If you've got a digital camera, why not take it with you next time you go out?
