Ishaan Khatter is one of India’s most promising young stars.
He made his debut in 2017 with Iranian director Majid Majidi’s Beyond The Clouds playing a drug dealer from the slums of Mumbai. The movie was nominated for Best Film at the London Film Festival. A year later, Ishaan starred in one of the most anticipated Bollywood dramas of 2018, Dhadak – a romantic tragedy tackling the issue of caste discrimination and honour killings. His choice of films has earnt him praise from critics who have recognised his effort to choose gritty, challenging roles as well as balancing mainstream movies in India.
Ishaan is currently appearing in the BBC One drama adaptation of Vikram Seth’s best-selling novel, A Suitable Boy, playing the lead role of Maan.
