Headed by the Cassidy Coventry Blaze coach Paul Thompson, the British side competed against five other nations in Group A of Division 1 – Poland, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, Korea and the hosts Austria. Blaze boasted four of the main British squad that played at the TWK Arena – captain Jonathan Weaver, James Pease, Russell Cowley and Tom Watkins.
