TV coverage of sport events - tenders
At BBC Sport we get rights to a variety of sporting events to create content for our platforms. The nature and length of rights contracts changes from event to event.
Some of the media rights acquired by BBC Sport are put out to tender to independent production companies. Current examples include:
- Snooker: TV coverage to be provided by Sunset + Vine to 2027
- Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025: TV coverage to be provided by Whisper
Contracts are given based on factors which include experience of delivery, creative proposition, skills base and value for money.
