New opportunity: Visualised Podcast formats for BBC Music On Demand
BBC Music is looking to explore YouTube-first podcast ideas, aimed at reaching young, music and pop-culture loving audiences off-platform.
We are looking to commission habit-driving formats with YouTube-native hosts, built to cut through busy feeds and build conversation across social platforms. Ideas should be loosely formatted and hangout-style, forming community by bringing audiences close to the creators they care about in an authentic and engaging way. Music, entertainment, and pop culture should set the tone but not restrict the topics discussed.
For this opportunity, a small number of ideas will be taken to pilot stage, before an initial 30-episode commission is made. Please see the full brief below for information on this process. The 30-episode commission will be published YouTube-first, with equivalent episodes available on BBC iPlayer, BBC Sounds and RSS platforms.
If you are registered with the BBC as a TV supplier, not an audio supplier, please contact PiCoS Support and let them know you would like to pitch to this round.
Please note:
- Suppliers should answer the Production Eligibility Questions outlined in section B2 of the commissioning brief by creating a word document and uploading as an attachment in PiCoS as part of the overall submission.
- The submission of a 1000 Word Proposal should be filled in in the Full Proposal section of PiCoS – these will then be short-listed.
- The closing date for submissions midday on Thursday 22nd January.
- We expect the pitching for this title to take place w/c 2nd February 2026.
