Radio 2 ‘s rolling Ad-Hoc round is open all year round – for any short proposals (250 words max) for curated music series, documentaries, social action campaigns, special projects or themed seasons. If you have a specific idea for a Radio 2 programme described above, contact Robert Gallacher.

6 Music Extension for BBC Sounds - Commissioning Round 2026
BBC Radio 6 Music is pleased to announce the opening of a commissioning round for the following strands, all with working titles, which will form part of a new BBC Sounds stream:
• Bundle 1: Indie Chill / Indie Focus
• Bundle 2: Big Hugs / Independent Icons
Please note:
• The round is open and the briefs are above.
• Suppliers should answer the Eligibility Questions and submit a 500 Word Proposal via PiCoS – these will then be short-listed.
• If submitting, please also complete ‘Appendix 2’ of the brief, including the budget information.
• The closing date for submissions midday on Thursday 12th March.
• We expect the pitching for this title to take place w/c 13th and 20th April 2026.
• With each completed 500 Word proposal we request some extra information on how you would reflect diversity and inclusion – please see the ‘Opportunity’ section and ‘Appendix 3’ for details.
