When people get sick in China they normally go to the hospital to see a doctor or a specialist. But in the UK people do things differently. British people usually see their family doctor unless it is an emergency. Family doctors are called GPs, which stands for general practitioner. GPs are qualified to diagnose and treat all sorts of different illnesses, and UK residents normally have to register at their local GP's surgery.
