Remembrance Day on CBeebies

The BBC Children's remembrance film Poppies is a beautiful and evocative animation that sees war as experienced by animals in a WWI battlefield.

Remembrance Day marks the day the First World War ended on the 11th day of the 11th Month 1918. A moment of silence is held at 11am on November 11th to remember people who have lost their lives. As represented in the video, poppies began to grow on the wastelands left by the battlefields of WW1 once the fighting had stopped. Some people choose to wear poppies as a way of remembering the sacrifice of others.

Remembrance Day is a time to reflect, show respect and honour people who have been involved in war and conflict since WW1 and remember those we have lost.
