Are brown bears dangerous? 🐻

The brown bear is the largest carnivore in Europe, an incredible predator that live in the dense primeval forests in Slovenia. They can weigh up to 350 kilograms and are VERY strong and suprisingly fast sprinters. A sense of smell 2000 times better than a human, they are formidable hunters.

How long do olms live?

Olm can live up to 100 years! Known as baby dragons, they descended from salamanders - an ancient group of animals that are hundreds of millions of years old. Over time, they adapted to their cold, wet and dark environment. They lost the use of their eyes and pigment, they became long and thin, making them excellent at hunting in the lost rivers. Steve finds them in the deep underground Postojna cave in Slovenia.

How much do you know about the nose-horned viper?

The nose-horned viper is a seriously deadly snake and the most venomous in Slovenia. Basking on the edges of rocky hillsides, they have horn like scales on the tip of their nose, a little bit like a rhino! Found in the Denaric region of Slovenia, they like to hide in small caves to hunt their prey. They like to eat frogs, lizards, birds and even insects.
