This is Finn and this is my take on what happened in the DG this week.

What friends do you look up to?

My DG replies: U18130162: Dear Finn, Although they can be annoying sometimes, I look up to my parents. I really look up to Jaqueline Wilson and my grandparents. Never be afraid to stand out but listen when people give advice. From GOF Finn: Hi U18130162. Grownups can definitely be annoying sometimes! It can be so tough and confusing, having to learn when to stand up for yourself and when is the time to listen to other people. I think even grownups get it wrong sometimes! I\u2019m getting better at it each time, I think.
My DG replies: ReinRules: Hi Finn. I look up to a friend who always tells the truth and someone you can trust. I think Alex is a really good friend of yours Finn: Hi ReinRules. The truth isn\u2019t always nice but it\u2019s good that you can rely on someone to be honest. Alex really is a good friend, thank you. He\u2019ll be happy you think that.
My DG replies: Alice: Hi Finn I look up to my friends because there\u2019re kind and we support each other and have a laugh Finn: Hello Alice. That sounds like a great group, all working together to have fun and look after each other. My friends at The DG are like that \u2013 there can be big dramas sometimes, but we always have each others backs when it counts.
My DG replies: Dramatic Dove: I love and look up to all my friends but mostly look up to my friend Olivia because she is kind, helpful, loyal, positive and she has your back in any situation. She is one of my closest friends. Finn: Sounds like Olivia is an amazing friend, Dramatic Dove. Like my friend, Alex. Everybody needs at least one great friend and we should all try and be that friend to others. The world would be so much nicer.
My DG replies: footballguitaristgirl24: Hi Finn, The friends that I look up too, are kind, and respectful towards others. This for me makes a great friend. I think that you should still keep in touch with Alex because even I\u2019d want him to be friends with me. When you are older you could maybe live with him! Thanks for reading! Finn: Hi footballguitaristgirl24. You\u2019re right about having to be respectful towards others. It says a lot about someone if they\u2019re nice to some people but mean to others. I am definitely going to stay in touch with Alex. He\u2019s my best friend and always has so much great advice and ideas as well as being loads of fun.
My DG replies: HettyFeatherFan03: Dear Finn, People I look up to are people who are loyal, kind, truthful, mature (but also really funny) and are there for you. I think you can definitely count on Alex to be that person for you; he knows what's best and so do Scott and May-Li. When you're ready to leave the DG, you are going to have some amazing people in your corner so don't worry! ~HFFan03 Finn: Hello HettyFeatherFan03. We sound the same \u2013 we are very lucky to have people like Alex, May-Li and Scott around for us. I know I can always rely on them for help and to look out for me. I want to be just like them, so I try to be just as kind to other people. Being truthful is a big one. Sometimes I don\u2019t like hearing the truth at first, but I know it comes from a good place.

I think you should look up to your amazing carers and your great friend Alex, because they care about you and that is the best quality in a friend! I definitely don\u2019t always do the right thing, so it\u2019s good to look up to those who try to I don\u2019t think anyone makes the right decisions 100% of the time but it\u2019s good to just do your best. We are so lucky at Ashdene Ridge, Scott and May-Li really care about us and want what\u2019s best for us.
My DG replies: Musicalpanda: Hey Finn, Personally I would look up to someone that can be really fun to be with at the right time but mature and sensible when you may need help. That is the kind of friend Alex is to you! You can tell he was being a great friend because he wanted to look out for you and he knew what would of happened if you went to live with him. Alex is a good friend, you are lucky to have someone so loyal and understanding. Finn: I thought we were just going to have parties all the time and watch TV, so I was mad at first, when Alex was being all serious. But I understand now. I\u2019m really lucky, I know that now. Everyone should try and find a friend as great as Alex. I wonder what kind of friend I am? Hopefully a good one!
