December 24th, pass the time with a wordsearch

It's almost time for the big day! We're feeling the excitement, are you?

December 23rd, check out this classic make!

In 2005, Blue Peter presenter Zoe Salmon created these wonderful homemade Christmas crackers, perfect for pulling around the Christmas table no matter the current year!

She was joined by Gethin Jones and Matt Baker who contributed their best (or worst, you decide!) Christmas cracker jokes.

December 22nd, we're in the winter season!

The Winter solstice (the shortest day of the year!) has been and gone, so it's time to see how well you know the season of winter.

We'll be in winter until March, so get cosy and warm your up your brain with this quiz.

December 20th, make some homemade snow!

Ready for some scientific festive Sunday with Shini and Maddie Moate?

In 2024, Shini was joined by Maddie and other CBeebies stars to make some super scientific homemade snowmen, without real snow!

Find out how she did it, and have a go yourself.

You will need:

  • Bicarbonate of soda

  • Hair conditioner

  • Decorations for your snowman

  • Vinegar

Be prepared to get messy with this one, we recommend building your snowman in a tub or on a plate!

December 19th, Come Alive!

Settle in for some Saturday fun by watching the brilliant, the amazing, the FANTASTIC performance by the cast of Come Alive the musical.

The show is inspired by smash hit film The Greatest Showman, so if you're a fan of music and incredible circus performances you're sure to love this.

December 18th, can you find all the gingerbread men?

Oh dear, it seems that all of the freshly baked and delicious gingerbread men have escaped. They'll run, run, as fast as they can, but you can catch them, you're the gingerbread spotter! 

You only have 60 seconds to click or tap on them all, so be quick before they run off with all the presents!

December 17th, here's one we made much, much earlier!

We're getting very close to the big day now, but there's still plenty of time to get a little bit crafty and make some last minute decorations for your tree, your table, or to go with all of your Christmas cards and elves on the shelf!

So, here's one we made much, much earlier!

For Christmas in 1971, Blue Peter presenter Valerie Singleton demonstrated how to make these adorable decorations out of card, tissue paper and sticky-backed felt. 

The instructions are so simple to follow, so why not follow along give it a go?

You will need:

  • A piece of card, cut into a semi-circle

  • Sticky-backed felt to cover your card. You could even simply just colour or paint your card.

  • Tissue paper

  • Your choice of decoration for your Santa to wear or hold!

If you've chosen to make a classic Blue Peter advent crown as seen at the start of this video, please make sure to use LED candles as real candles are a fire risk.

For Christmas in the year 2000, Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq created these pop-tastic Christmas Tree decorations simply using card and bubble wrap. You might have lots of bubble wrap at home during the Christmas season, so why not give these a go for a simple and quick decoration to make?

You will need:

  • A 25 x 25cm square piece of card or paper

  • Shiny foil or coloured paper

  • Bubble wrap

  • A ruler

  • Glue

  • Scissors (Ask a grown-up for help when handling sharp items!)

  • Any decorative bits and bobs of your choosing! Scraps of tinsel, a star, an angel to sit at the top? You're in control of the final touches!
