BBC Caribbean's last week on air | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This is the last week of programmes from BBC Caribbean following wider cuts to the BBC World Service announced in January. The Caribbean Service team will each host a final programme during the week to sign off on the morning and evening editions of BBC Caribbean Report and BBC Caribbean Magazine. World Service programmes in English will continue to be broadcast to the Caribbean via the FM relay network and partner stations. The final broadcasts will be on Friday, March 25. During the final week of programming, both Caribbean Report and Sports Caribbean are featuring material from the archives. According to a BBC press release, on the weekend of March 25, radio broadcasts in Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Turkish, Vietnamese, and Ukrainian will also come to an end. UWI endowment Copies of the sound and text content of the BBC Caribbean's radio and online archives will be donated to the University of the West Indies (UWI).
