THE BAHAMAS

Frank Rutherford was the first Bahamian to win a medal in athletics with a Bronze medal at the Barcelona Games.

The Bahamas Relay team known as the Golden Girls won the Bahamas first Gold Medal at the 2000 games in Sydney

Tonique Williams-Darling is the only individual Olympic gold medallist ever for the Bahamas. She won the Women’s 400m in Athens in 2004.

She is not competing this year.

BERMUDA

Clarence Hill of Bermuda earned a bronze medal in boxing’s super-heavyweight division in 1996 to give Bermuda the honor of being the least populous nation (53,500) ever to win a medal.

NETHERLANDS ANTILLES

The Netherlands Antilles has one Olympic medal to its credit.

At the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, Korea, Jan Boersma won the nation's first ever Olympic medal in sailing in the Men's Lechner Sailboard division.
