This, I believe, was one of the core values reflected in the functionality and the design aesthetic of this building by iconic architect Frank Gehry. It is a unique place in Scotland that exists to inspire and aid the healing process of those affected by cancer and their families.
As a photographer, whose family has been touched directly and dramatically by this illness, this is something I felt it was important to portray positively. Looking at the light in its most abstract form has proved, to me, that the camera can be used as a tool that captures the spiritual as well as the physical." (Karina Sutherland)
