Britain in Pictures: Gallery1. The East - The Old Lifeboat House, Blakeney, Norfolk
© Frances Kearney - "I chose this image from the Old Lifeboat Station, as the image is ambiguous. I’m creating a story and the viewer will form his or her own story when viewing the image. For me this location encompasses a wonderful sense of space and freedom. I love the saturated blues of the sky and the wonderful old corrugated iron building. I dressed the girls in natural colours to bring more of a muted and peaceful feel to the image: the girls appear to be absorbed in their own moments of thought, a pause from the speed of our lives of today in 2007. I think perhaps I’d like to return and photograph them again but this time from the other side with the shoreline and water in the background along with the building. " (Francis Kearney)
