Getting a grant

If you are looking for funding to help you transform a piece of land into a space that's great for people and nature, there are a number of organisations who can provide support.

Funding sources

The Big Lottery Fund distributes National Lottery money and has programmes specifically geared towards environmental work.

The four agencies that comprise the Joint Nature Conservation Committee are worth approaching. They offer grants and advice directly related to the environment in your area:

Scottish Natural Heritage

Countryside Council for Wales

Northern Ireland Environment Agency

There are many other bodies that might offer you a grant towards the cost of a project. The charity GreenSpace has a free 'Fund Search' function on its website.
