The last bit of green

This is a project in the making – plans to plant and install bird boxes have got Cliftonwood Residents Association chomping at the bit! They won a Big Lottery Grant in May 2007 and have started preparations to make their little patch of green even greener and more wildlife friendly.

The local residents put up a fight to save a precious patch of wildlife surrounded by Bristol's city sprawl.

The People

residents association

Public feeling was so strong that residents formed their own company - Cliftonwood Terrace Residents' Association - to save this last bit of green for the community.

"We’ve always envisaged that we would like to bring something to the area that can be enjoyed by the whole community."

The Place

This is a project in the making – plans to plant and install bird boxes have got Cliftonwood Residents Association chomping at the bit! They won a Big Lottery Grant in May 2007 and have started preparations to make their little patch of green even greener and more wildlife friendly. They’ve consulted a wildlife expert to make sure they get the most from their Breathing Place and cleared some ground, so roll on the planting and welcome to wildlife!
