From Bradford to Normandy

In summer 2004, school pupils from Queensbury in Bradford went on a special visit to Normandy to discover more about those who lost their lives on D-Day. As Remembrance Day 2004 drew near, they explained what they found out...

		Take a look at an exhibition of photos and sculptures in Shipley as a tribute to one man who fought in WWI.				Over 80 years ago 12,000 men from Bradford advanced in the first hour of The Battle of the Somme.

		We meet a man from Huddersfield who refused to fight because he thought it was wrong.				Sadie Smith from Bradford fell in love with a Polish pilot in World War Two. She's been telling us her story.

		"But where have they gone all the aircrews?" A Bradford man's wartime poem...				Share your memories, hear veterans speak, find out about The Cenotaph and watch video from the time.
