BBC Radio 4’s Short Cuts is always worth checking out, but this short guide to storytelling is unmissable!

Short Cuts is a fantastic BBC Radio 4 show that aims to provide a showcase for ‘delightful and adventurous’ short documentaries from the UK and abroad. It goes without saying that not every edition is about writing, but there’s a whole heap of episodes with intriguing and unusual topics to fire your imagination – from explorations of body language to a look at what it’s like to have a famous name, or perhaps you’d enjoy some tales of disappearance…

Why are we mentioning this now? Because you can watch Josie Long's guide to great storytelling (above). As writers, many of you will be familiar with the elements touched on, but it’s always good to get a refresher and for newer writers, it’s full of tips about how to improve your storytelling.
