We're delighted to announce the ten scripts and their writers that have reached the shortlist of our recent InterConnected opportunity. We had a record number of 6803 scripts submitted.
The scripts that will be developed are:
- A Month of Sundays by Anna Mawn
- Another World by Lizzie Nunnery
- Commuter Experience by Munro Gascoigne
- Fix by Vanessa Schofield
- Fred Gets Feedback by Jill Worsley
- No Place Like Home by Will Davis
- Party by Alegria Adedeji and Jeremy Oyo
- Psychic Overload By Amna Saleem
- Salvation Calling by Sinead Collopy
- Solitaire by Will Clempner
They are all original short-form scripts, between 5-10 minutes in length, about 2-4 characters who now find themselves in isolation, but connecting via video conferencing. Using modern technology to stay connected, they are stories that show a moment of human interaction in an otherwise socially distanced world.
The selected writers will each receive £300 and will now have their scripts developed with the support of the BBC Writersroom. At least four will be produced as filmed shorts and released on BBC platforms.
We hope to be able to announce which scripts will be filmed and details of the casting very soon.

BBC Writersroom felt it was vital to offer this opportunity to storytellers, many of whom are struggling in the current climate, and were absolutely blown away by the sheer volume of entries, nearly 7000, and the quality of them.”
Unfortunately we are not able to provide individual feedback to writers who took part, but we have put together some general advice and feedback on our blog.
