BBC Radio Wales book programme Phil The Shelf has recently returned to the airwaves.

In this Sunday's show, presenter and author Phil Rickman delves into the crime genre as he explores the work of Val McDermid and Peter James.

He speaks to a forensic psychologist about the efficacy of psychological profiling in a crime investigation and also talks to ex-pharmacist Celia Kellet, who has written a book about poisons.

This week's Shelf Starter (the regular strand on the show that showcases unpublished writers) is David Weeks, who has produced a credible effort despite suffering from dyslexia. His work is analysed by Hazel Cushion, the founder of Accent Press, who also suffers from dyslexia.

It features former Shelf Starter Myrrha Stanford-Smith, who, after being featured on the show, went on to pen her novel The Great Lie: A Nicholas Talbot Adventure and secure a three-book deal with Welsh publishers Honno.
