Spoiler alert: This post looks back at the first 11 episodes of Dickensian – turn back if you wish to remain spoiler free!

As we reach the end of the gloriously atmospheric 19th Century drama that is BBC One’s Dickensian, now is the perfect time to take a look at the big moments and storylines that have really caught your imagination so far.

From the central whodunit to a genuinely shocking ‘doof-doof’ moment involving the baddest of bad guys, here’s our pick of your reactions on social media.

So, just who DID murder Marley?

One of the joys of watching Dickensian is, of course, trying to outsmart Inspector Bucket “of the Detective”, and work out who killed Scrooge’s old business partner - the decidedly dastardly Jacob Marley. You have some fantastic theories – some more likely than others…

Compeyson: From ‘love to hate’ to just pure hate…

In a murky world filled with multifarious villains, none has been more discussed than the handsomely named Meriwether Compeyson. A dashing, underhand schemer, at first we rather went the way of poor Miss Amelia Havisham and fell for his devilish charms…

But then he took his frustrations out on Amelia’s beautiful dog, and everything changed. In fact, most of your reactions are too potty-mouthed to publish… So instead we’ll simply point you towards this sage bit of advice:

All hail Stephen Rea

We may think we can beat Bucket to the truth in the Jacob Marley case, but it seems his real-life alter ego Stephen Rea can do no wrong in your eyes. And quite right too.

Any other business?

Dickensian can be tragic one moment and laugh-out-loud funny the next (we love Mrs Gamp as much as she loves a drop of gin, just for her nerves of course) – and your reactions have been just as diverse. Here are just a few more of the fabulous posts we found along the way:
