This weekend we had no show on the Saturday night (alright then, Sunday morning) because of 6 Music's five-hour Legends Of The Dancefloor Special: The Weekend - Thank Larry It's Friday... highlights from the second birthday of the Paradise Garage club.

However we made up for it with this morning's jam-packed show. We marked today's release of GRANDAD GALAXY - the new album from The Voluntary Butler Scheme (aka Rob Jones) - with session versions of two of the tracks recorded live on the Marc Riley show last April.

We also invited this week's guest blogger Tom Williams to drop by and talk about the ins and outs of unsigned bands getting themselves booked at festivals. Tom also explained some of the possibilities for financing the recording his band's next album through a fan-funding site such as Sellaband or Pledge Music.

And Bobby Friction sent us a track by Sali that he described as "the most bonkers thing that I've ever played on air". It's a claim we should take with a pinch of salt, bearing in mind that other contenders include Caravan Crookz, Last Mango In Paris and The Psychedelic Singh.
