Word up

Here's what I picked from my trawls across the blogosphere this week....

First up was Catwalk who revolved around Nick Hessler from Oxnard, California. The band is all fuzzy, melodic joy and their latest single, One By Words, is coming out as a 7" on Captured Tracks and will, apparently, be super ltd edition. Best get in their fast if you want your copy. The track has been doing the rounds across all the big noisey blogs, but I picked it up from the wonderful Aurora Vibes which is well worth a read.

CATWALK - One By Words

My second choice for TR was this treat from Mutual Benefit. At the moment the band consists of just one person called Jordan, who's only tenets are, 1. Do cool stuff, and 2. Be kind to each other. You can't really argue with either. When he's not making sleepy lo-fi, Jordan can be found running the Kassette Klub label. This track has an ace video for it that consists of images from the June 1973 issue of National Geographic that have somehow been made to move. It's lovely. I picked the track up via the Their Bated Breath blog.
