Anita Dobson as Angie Watts in EastEnders
We can confirm that Anita Dobson is to guest-star in The Archers. However, knowing that most Archers listeners hate spoilers, we're not going to discuss the part she's going to play, or any storylines she'll be involved in.
Anita is probably best known for playing Angie Watts in EastEnders. Her biggest moment was when on-screen husband 'Dirty' Den handed her divorce papers on Christmas Day. That still holds the record as the highest rating TV soap episode in British history, with approximately 30 million viewers.
More recently Anita was a big hit in Strictly Come Dancing, spending nine weeks in the competition.
Oddly enough, there's soap actor traffic the other way too, as Tim Bentinck (David Archer) is to play a solicitor in EastEnders.
