The Bridge Farm drama continues and listeners debate the future of the farm, Helen’s abrupt departure and Rob’s charm. Tom comes under fire for upsetting Kirsty.

Listeners wonder if the Grundy feud could ever end, and whether Susan Carter should have her own mini series.

Here’s my pick of the listener discussions between 30 January and 5 February 2014

Has Peggy been hoodwinked by charming Rob? Most seem to think he’s up to no good – and want to know what’s happened to Jess. But a few say it’s true love…

Oh Rob, you're king of the smarm & cheesey lines. #thearchers (@DarbyshireMark on Twitter)

Remember Peggy. Psychopaths are very clever at being charming when the need arises. #TheArchers (@Airscaper on Twitter)

I've BEEN married, not I AM married? Where's the body, Rob?! #thearchers (@timbubbly on Twitter)

Rob is seriously creepy eurgh! Jess is heading back to Ambridge with a bun surely? (Sakuntala Layla Della Jovan on BBC The Archers Facebook page)

#thearchers I like that Rob and Helen are happy and maybe, just maybe he is not actually an evil pyscho? *ducks* (@Kate_MB on Twitter)

As much as a creep some people are saying about Rob('s character) he at least seems to be genuinely in love with her… Helen is as much at fault as Rob in this set up and finally, they're fictional grown up people who can do what they want and everyone makes mistakes! (Laura Robjohns on BBC The Archers Facebook page)

Most applauded Peggy as she told Pat that she wouldn’t be changing her mind about her will. There’s some sympathy for Tony and Pat and their dreams for the future of Bridge Farm, but has Moany Tony gone too far?

Peggy's just like a giant spider... Sitting in the middle of a sticky web #thearchers (@salvatorRosa on Twitter)

Blimey, #thearchers is on storming form. Go Peggy, tell priggy Pat where to get off. (@TVAlisonGraham on Twitter)

Sympathy for Pat and tony in @BBCTheArchers - no chance of holding onto organic status once Tom the terrible rules the pig barn (@tor_extance on Twitter)

Tony Archer - you whingey, whiney, intolerable git - MAN UP! Your children are singled out FROM ALL PEGGY'S OTHER GRANDCHILDREN, to cash in from for her inheritance, and you have the gall to mope around self-pityingly while your siblings graciously accept getting nothing. INTOLERABLE MAN!!!!!!!! (LadyMuck2 on The Archers blog)

Why doesn't Tony just do a deal with Tom.......ask for a pension from the farm and go off and be retired? Hand it over to him? Be done with it? (Diane Davis on Archers Addicts Facebook group)

And as if that wasn’t enough angst for the Bridge Farm Archers, Rob arrived at Bridge Farm for tea…

I don't think I've ever heard a programme which does 'cringe-making party' as well as the Archers. Today's tea chez Pat and Tony is just one in a long and venerable (?venomous) line. I don't know that my toes are ever going to become uncurled! (Cathy Simpson on BBC The Archers Facebook page)

Ooooohhhh...gotta love the Bridge Farm smack down!! (Corin Warden on BBC The Archers Facebook page)

Oh for heaven's sake why shouldn't Tony lose his rag. Insensitive Helen forces her parents to entertain her two timing jerk of a boyfriend who starts spouting off about a lot of sensitive issues that he knows nothing about. (Jill Nicholls on BBC The Archers Facebook page)

#thearchers Tony's ill mannered strop has forced me into the Helen & Rob camp. Bugger. (@barefootmower on Twitter)

And listeners cheered (for differing reasons) as Helen announced she was moving out

Excellent. Off you pop. #thearchers (@TreacleToo on Twitter)

I can't believe how rude Helen is to her parents. I was wondering how she will manage without the free childcare, but I expect Rob will persuade her to give up work soon, so she can be waiting at home with his dinner on the table. There's nothing wrong with being a full-time mum, but I think what Rob wants is a full-time wife. (Brenda Selwyn on BBC The Archers Facebook page)

I'm with Helen on this one. I don't know how she's put up with Tony's whining this long! (Jo Beggs on BBC The Archers Facebook page)

You'd think Helen was transporting Henry to Tasmania. #OTT#TheArchers (@elnora_c on Twitter)

Tom’s assumption that Kirsty would want to move into his dream home on Bridge Farm land – a home he’d planned with Brenda – had listeners rolling their eyes

Tom - I just assumed. Yes, like your whole family does #thearchers (@PinkPrimula on Twitter)

Tom, the answer is to put your parents into No1 and then you and Kirsty can move into the farm. #thearchers (@Tightbeat on Twitter)

Tom is an inconsiderate, boring buffoon! Kirsty could do much better than him! Kick him to touch kirsty! (Gillian Radford on BBC The Archers Facebook page)

Poor Kirsty. But there is almost something endearing about how clueless he is. (Penny Hassack on BBC The Archers Facebook page)

As a farmer, especially with livestock, Tom needs to be living on the farm....one of the difficulties of being a farmer's wife is that the job is 24/7 plus very often with the in-laws close by ...Kirsty will need to get that into her head (Pauline Hakeney on Archers Addicts Facebook group)

Life is too short! Just be glad for a home Kirsty (Sandra Greenhow on BBC The Archers Facebook page)

Over at Ambridge View, there’s concern as George goes missing, and exasperation after Ed and Will almost come to blows

Tonight's @BBCTheArchers had me sobbing down the M25! It's episodes like this which make us love listening to these peoples' lives! (@ziggiszafranski on Twitter)

Wonderful Eddie all masterful! He sounded absolutely livid with the pair of them!! (January Jones on BBC The Archers Facebook page)

I was proud of Eddie giving his over-indulged younger son a few home truths today. About time too! Some of us haven't forgotten the shameful way that Eddie and Clarrie (out of character) sided with Ed and Emmur against Will. (Chris Cann on BBC The Archers Facebook page)

Will is just one of life's losers who will spend his entire life feeling jealous of Ed and sorry for himself and he will never get over him 'stealing' Emma. Frankly he should count his blessings, Ed sure has his work cut out with Emma. (Christine Kilby on BBC The Archers Facebook page)

If Will doesn't change let's hope Ed can smile sweetly, ignore him, and enjoy the view from the Moral High Ground!! (Nutmeg Cat on BBC The Archers Facebook page)

Whatever Ed resolves, Will knows too well which buttons to press to provoke him. This is only going to be resolved by one brother or other moving well away from Ambridge... (Nigel Cropper on BBC The Archers Facebook page)

Yeah right Ed! I give it 5 mins till 'Will looked at me funny'. #TheArchers (@slackalan on Twitter)

In other posts, many look forward to Susan’s return

I want a mini series 'Susan Carter - Millionaire' where she has to spend all her fortune without anyone knowing #thearchers (@jdg_99 on Twitter)

Why isn't Emurr nipping all these rumours in the bud? Of course, delicious anticipation of the fallout come Soosun's return #thearchers (@caracourage on Twitter)

And a few are missing characters like Fallon, Shula and Vicky

Never thought I'd say this but I miss Vicky, we need a bit of sillyness in Ambridge. It's a bit too serious for me at the moment (Joanne Luck on BBC The Archers Facebook page)
