Jill on the ghost of Grace Archer.
In one of Hollowtree’s most memorable moments, Phil Archer was discovered there playing a piano that Joe and Eddie had abandoned in a shower of rain. Jethro Larkin, who had previously accidentally dropped a bale of hay on Phil’s head, became convinced that his employer was temporarily disturbed, but the pigs munching nearby recorded no complaint. Indeed, productivity at Hollowtree may even have gone up.

Latterly, Hollowtree stood empty and silent, its contentedly grunting inhabitants disposed of when Brookfield went out of pigs. But with David’s beef scheme, the buildings were once again pressed to use.
