Does Shula Hebden-Lloyd hold a vital piece of evidence about Rob Titchener? Helen’s husband, who narrowly avoided death when she stabbed him in their kitchen at Blossom Hill Cottage, was embroiled in a contretemps with a hunt saboteur in 2015, in which he revealed his unpleasant and violent nature. And who was the only witness? Shula.
In February 2015, when a fox was caught and killed by the hunt of which Rob is a keen member, Rob confronted Vince, a hunt saboteur with a camera who was accusing the hunt of deliberately killing the fox. An altercation took place in which Rob tried to take Vince’s camera and punched him. Shula was shocked, and in the aftermath when Rob hurriedly told Helen that the sab had thrown the first punch, backed him up.
Shula continued her support of Rob even when PC Burns was involved, despite feeling very uncomfortable at the position she was in. Helen is family and Shula felt she should support both her, and the hunt. She confronted Rob about the lies she had told on his behalf but Rob’s position was that he was the ‘good guy’, and the sab deserved it. Shula confided in Caroline and admitted to her that she had seen another, scarier, side of Rob.
Since Helen has been held in prison, people in Ambridge have been questioning what could have led her to attack her husband. Helen’s plight has caused Shula to feel overwhelmed by the knowledge that she’s carried of Rob, and the bearing it could have on the case.
She visited Helen’s barrister, Anna Tregorran, in the hope she could help, but Anna told her she couldn’t use her evidence. Added to that, Anna said as Shula has already lied to the police she would be seen as an unreliable witness. Shula was devastated and realised that her manipulation at Rob’s hands has led her to not only break her own moral code but also let down her family.

No good hiding in there Shula...
