The Birthday Honours List is a long held tradition of the reigning monarch's official birthday but this year the honours come as an added birthday treat for someone else other than the Queen.
In the same week as her 98th birthday, the Archers actress June Spencer is recognised with a CBE in the 2017 Birthday Honours List!

June, who plays Peggy Woolley, is the only surviving member of the initial cast of The Archers. When the serial started in 1951, June was one of the seven actors who all played key characters as well as doubling as other parts.
As well as playing Peggy Archer (as she was then, married to Jack Archer) June also played Rita Flynn, an Irishwoman who worked in the bakery.
The Editor of The Archers, Huw Kennair-Jones, said: "June Spencer is, quite simply, a force of nature. At 98 years old, her dedication to The Archers is inspirational to everyone who works on the programme.
"This honour is incredibly well deserved, though knowing June she won't be resting on any laurels but preparing for her next appearance with her trademark devotion to her craft."
The CBE is June’s second award from the Queen. In 1991 she was made an OBE.
June has been part of The Archers cast for a total of 57 years. While she took a break between 1954 and 1961, Thelma Rogers took on the role of Peggy.
