Pip and Rex: what could have been or what might still be?

Pip’s frustrated exclamation that she picked the wrong brother made for an excruciatingly awkward moment between her and Rex.

It makes you wonder if Pip really was aware of Rex’s feelings all along. Back when Rex was trying to find a way to encourage their relationship into more than friendship, Pip appeared oblivious to his advances. Even when Alice explicitly pointed it out to her, Pip played it down.

In the end she got together with the other Fairbrother, Toby. But now that’s over could there yet be a future for Pip and Rex?

Going by Rex’s reaction to Pip’s outburst, perhaps not. One sure way to snuff out unrequited love has to be seeing your sibling achieve the relationship you wished you had. And now there’s Anisha.

The confident, competitive, high-flying vet certainly seems to have brought out a livelier side to Rex which is a pleasant contrast from the moping puppy dog quality he adopted while trying to chat up Pip.

However, we all know (though maybe not Anisha) that there’s a well-established history of attraction between Archers and Fairbrothers…
