As you will have seen this week, the new BBC Academy has now had its launch. The Academy has been settling into its new home for some time now and Workplace were proud to be able to help facilitate the change. This meant a large number of people moving from Marylebone High Street to combine with staff already at White City in a newly refurbished headquarters. The Workplace challenge was to provide the new workspace and move the people within constraints of budget and timeframe - and we are pleased to report that the feedback has been incredibly positive.
As part of its approved Corporate Property Plan, the BBC is rationalising its properties to reduce the size and cost of the portfolio, particularly in central London. The vacation and disposal of the BBC leasehold interest in Marylebone High Street, with its considerable long term cost savings, was identified as an early opportunity.
The BBC has relocated BBC London Radio and TV from MHS to the new broadcasting facilities in Broadcasting House whilst The Academy moved to White City.
Workplace are have been able to rationalise the number of workstations as well as provide more flexible working spaces which will hopefully help showcase Workplace's Flex initiative in White City. See some of the new spaces below.
