Have a good time

Simon Mayo

Presenter

And a very top Thursday to you. Swift walk after the show yesterday to see The Entertainer in London's glittering West End. This means tea on the move and a sandwich whilst walking is of course a recipe for indigestion and an uncomfortable first half. Pudding was a packet of fruit gums, consumed surreptitiously in the noisiest moments. These are also useful to fend off sleep. This is no disrespect to the play - Ken Branagh and co were brilliant - but post-US election fatigue was very powerful and did occasionally, briefly, overwhelm. Sensible eating patterns are resuming.

And Foodie Thursday is the right time with Nigel's sausage surprise (that's not quite right. It's got walnuts somewhere. Maybe that's the surprise).

Plus! Jazz! BBC Music Jazz goes live from 10 today. Another one of our pop-up stations, it'll run 24 hours a day till Monday and features shows from Van Morrison (!) Gregory Porter, Jamie Cullum and Laura Mvula. Plus! Steve has a Love Songs special called, obviously, Steve Wright's Sunday Jazz Love Songs. Anyway...let's do some JAZZ oldies please. Any link you can think of is fine with me.

Nice!
