Hey

Simon Mayo

Presenter

When Friends started on TV, I remember thinking that 'hey' was a weird way to greet people. What was wrong with 'hello' or 'hi'? And now, a few years later, I'm saying it too. So hey bloggers! I'm not quite at the 'let's put that in the thought fridge and snack on it later' stage but it's not far off really. Good, if terrifying, contributions to our management speak list yesterday I thought...

And wasn't Helen M totally fabulous? To be THAT famous, THAT successful and THAT glamorous but still be charming, grounded and self-depracating is quite something. Thanks Dame Helen!

Equally gorgeous is top comedy man Ross Noble who is back around the UK on tour and is always great company. He's the only comedian who genuinely seems to prepare entire tours based on a few words on a scrap of paper. And not just in a showbiz way either-he literally makes it up as he goes along.

And let's try SCHOOL RUN oldies as thejoys of cars of kids and parents returns to our streets. I always loved the school run and got cross when everyone complained. We had good times, good chats and good story tapes. And some sullen times, grumpy chats and terrible singalong tapes. Our kids spend 50% more time in the car than we did-26 hours a year apparently! School run tunes please...

See you at 5. We'll be better than The Wheels On The Bus. But it'll be close.
