Can't complain

Not when the sunglasses are needed, the thermostat is nudged down and thinner jumpers are being hauled from the back of the drawer. And it is all so much better than last March which was howlingly horrible, so we are chipper and grateful for vague feeling of warmth from the sky. Quite a bit of travel at this end with a jaunt to Southampton successfully negotiated, though I regret to report that way too many jelly babies had to be consumed as a result. I'll look at those new sugar guidelines later...

A new week of lovely drivetime shows lined up starting with today's book club choice of The Ruby Slippers by Keir Alexander. It is Keir's debut novel and you can read some right here, right now. It tells the story of old Rosa, a bag lady in New York who owns a pair of ruby slippers that played a pivotal role in The Wizard of Oz. Keir is a former actor, stage manager and director who now teaches English and plays cricket a lot. And now he's been chosen for the Radio 2 Book Club-here Keir from 6.

And songs please for CHAT SHOWS as Michael McIntyre debuts as a host tonight. Only comics get these gigs now of course and MM is in the old Graham Norton slot before he moved, triumphantly I think, to Friday nights. Our Terry is one of the guests, a man who is no stranger to the chat host role himself, and a tune or two would be lovely if you have them. Thanks!
