Hey.
That's a greeting now so I'm using it here.
Hey.
I think it's a Friends thing. When the series started it sounded weird when
someone walked into a room and instead of saying 'hello', 'good morning' or
'greetings and salutations to you sirrah', they just said 'hey'. And now
we do it. Well I do it and it's probably annoying and signals moral decline and
media depravity. Ho hum.
Here we are then with a lovely Foody Thursday on the way and Nigel lining up a
Lancashire Hot Pot. So we're talking lamb, potatoes, onions, maybe some carrots
and turnips...and I think mustard. Mustard is essential here, not optional,
just to give it a little warmth. Mrs M always complains about the sheer number
of sauces and pickles that fill the fridge and larder but these are essentials
I think. Mint sauce, chutney, hollandaise, tartare, redcurrant, all of them.
Bring 'em all in Nige!
And how about GRUMPY oldies? Not the Snow White version obvs. Apparently we in
the UK are just naturally grumpy because of seratonin, or lack of it. The
French are grumpier, the Danes don't even no the meaning of the word, but we
are born grumpy and that's that.
Harrumph indeed.
