He walks and types! And he's old too! Brief birthday exchange of bonhomie and gifts then onwards to a screening. I forget what of (old you see) but I'll remember before we're done. I haven't bumped into anyone or anything yet but, head down, I'm relying on everyone getting out of my way. Things might be trickier.

(It's 'Pan' with Hugh Jackman btw. Phew. Like JM Barrie's character, I too am permanently 34).

Today's Book Club features the one and only Sebastian Faulkes. His latest book is 'Where My Heart Used To Beat' and you can read a chapter here. The author of Birdsong and Engleby has returned to some familiar territory. The idealistic 60s, the war in Italy and the trenches of WW1 are all part of the story of English doctor Robert Hendricks who we follow on this novel which manages (as SF does so well) to be both a page turner and profound.

And songs of the HEART should prove an easy call for a song chasers everywhere...
