So Spear of Destiny made a surprising appearance on the show yesterday via the confession. It is true that I don’t rate Liberator but in my defence (Rose) I was the only one to play You’ll Never Take Me Alive back in 1987. I remember attending the Radio 1 playlist meeting when it was roundly condemned as overblown (true) and a racket (not true). Breakfast lasted till 9.30 and I was allowed to play it in the last half hour. I still love it and that was quite a look that Kirk Brandon had. The video is classic 80s pomp and nonsense with big sweeping vistas, railway tracks and billowing cotton blouses. I shall wear one today in its honour.

Nigel has a Scandinavian offering with summer berries and no smelly fish fermented in sulphurous waste product. Hooray!
