Make It Snappy

Simon Mayo

Presenter

Well hello again. The old blog has been humming along quite happily I see in my absence. Maybe I'm not really needed; you know what you're doing, just get on with it...

Not really.

How lovely to be back, a sunny day beckons and Drivetime back in full effect (as kids used to say). I have spent the week in Suffolk gently steering the good ship HMS REVISION into calm waters/onto the rocks. Then a little geocaching and quite a few chips, as is normal for these times. I'd like to tell you lots of tales about showbiz days with celebs and highlife, but I have none. Not a single one. I'll try harder.

Today I am filming some jolly radio banter with Bob, Tony, Ken and Jo to go on the website-tell you more tomorrow.

I trust all has been well in my absence and that Paddy was charming everyone (even if comedians need to stop taking our jobs. I mean am I likely to do a week of stand up at Wembley? I don't think so).

We are back with a Radio 2 Book Club choice which is The Children Of The Jacaranda Tree by Sahar Delijani. It's a powerful tale about the revolution in Iran and you can download a chapter while you are here should you fancy it. It is Sahar's debut novel and you can hear her tonight after 6.

And CROCODILE oldies please as their numbers rocket. Australia has a croc population higher than at anytime since 1971. And it is different, you have to say.

Have an encouraging and smiley Monday, see you after 5.

Blog comments will be available here in future. Find out more.
