First of all, sorry about the lateness of the blog yesterday.
This was due to something, somewhere. And that's official. It was alright leaving me and then it disappeared into the belly of the beast where it emerged many hours later, gasping for air. Anyway, hopefully that will all be better today. Your patience and forbearance is appreciated.
So yesterday was fun with the arrival of a finished copy of Itch Rocks (just the one) which was thrilling. A year and a half of work in one package. It's like a lot of the vinyl love at the moment; it is a physical, visceral thing. It has a smell, a heft, a feel that your generic e-reader isn't going to match. I even started to read it again but then realised that looked slightly, well, wrong. So I went back to my usual mix of books we might pick for the book club. Which felt better. And speaking of vinyl...
Radio 2 is in the middle of a lot of album love at the moment, with our online best album poll, celebrating The Golden Age of the Album. My favourite comes up on Friday, it's Ken's today. So when we lost a guest, it seemed a perfect opportunity to play some of those long songs you suggest but we never have time to accommodate. So that's what we'll do after 6. We might fit 3 in, tops.
Beside that, lets do VINYL/LONG PLAYER oldies. THANKS.
