I wonder how your engines feel

Well very pleased the way that all went. It's fair to say that Ricky and Lorraine from Deacon Blue went down a storm last night. So many fans over such a long time. Many late-80s albums don't stand the test of time too well but Raintown certainly does and Dignity is still a showstopper.

And I loved the listener who remembered an interview I'd done with Ricky for Science Week-because Ricky and I certainly couldn't! Thank you listeners, as ever.

Today we have some food prepared with love and affection by young Nigel. Persian joojeh chicken wing kebabs with skewered tomatoes is what he's promising from his spectacular BBQ. Details to follow. And, as the Goodwood Festival of Speed kicks-off/starts/ launches, we'll try a few SPEED oldies (from the old English 'spedan' meaning to prosper and grow rich by the way). Speed tunes all day, play our favourites from 5.

Happy Thursday everyone.
