‘Nothing’s that simple’

Took a snow day yesterday. My school wasn’t closed, my work wasn’t cancelled but decided to stay inside anyway. When the kids were younger, they’d have woken me in a state of grand excitement, but I found myself watching the snow and wondering whether I should wake them up. Then I decided that wouldn’t be greeted with the enthusiasm I would have hoped for. So I sat and did Christmas cards instead. Then the ironing, then some decorations and drank coffee.
Today is the challenge however! Staying inside not an option. I have suggested that we do the show from my house but that has been rejected, callously. So it’s a Book Club day then with Francesca Hornak’s Seven Days of Us. The Birch family are gathering at Christmas for the first time in years but as one of them has been treating an epidemic abroad, they all have to stay in quarantine for a week. No one out, no one in. And they are a family with a shed load of secrets. One of whom is about to come a-knocking...There’s a chapter here! And Francesca here at 6.
And inspired by Francesca’s book, as well as the plight of the snowed-in, we’ll assemble a ‘TRAPPED’ playlist for your delectation.
