POET'S DAY (on a Thursday)

Bleary home time. Normal breakfast, no bacon rolls. Such normalcy cannot last bit it's fun while it is here. I shall potter today. If I had a shed, I would potter in that but instead I shall potter with CDs, generic mp3 players and a few piles of books. Making playlists is the modern equivalent of compiling cassettes of your favourites and shuffling these songs around so that I don't stumble upon a rogue Christmas track is time well spent. Other unwanted surprises always include songs downloaded by your children-where do they get their taste from? Meantime the new Thompson Family album is rather fine; Teddy, Richard, Linda and assorted children assembled and produced by Teddy. Worth hunting out when it's released in November...
Nigel tackles some student food today. Attention freshers/anyone wanting something that isn't beans on toast. It's that I'm-trying-something-on-my-own moment and I think it's a top cauliflower cheese today. A hideous dish as I recall from childhood but i will love Nige's version.
And songs for NATIONAL POETRY DAY today as I for one bemoan my lack of fluent recall (or any recall at all) of poems which would undoubtedly enhance my life. Poetry Please!
