Suntanned, windblown

Ah well here we are again and Sara is playing Convoy by CW McCall. What a tune. And many years ago, the hit of the moment when I was being shown around Radio 1. Johnnie Walker was on lunchtime and interviewing an American CB radio guy who explained all the jargon CB radio used; this particular schoolboy was hooked! I mean I was hooked anyway but seeing all the shows go out was quite a thing. A producer called Roger Pusey showed me round and in 1986 when I joined Radio 1, Roger was the first man I sought out.

Back in 2017 we find our day chock full of LOVE AND STUFF. Valentines Day is definitely not the tyranny it was when ‘we’ were at school- I don’t think my kids know what to do when any post arrives-but the appeal of a good love song is undiminished. So today Radio Two counts down our most played love songs of the 21st century. Sara ’s kicked it all off and we get the countdown to the number 1. So no room for your oldies but enjoy your extra time off by trying to work out what the big songs are/will be. And grumble about the one’s not there because that is what these things are all about.
