The queues are forming, the crowds are enthusiastic. They've been looking forward to today since the tickets were announced. Years in the making, today finally and with great fanfare, the Ken Bruce show is live from Glasgow. Let the adulation flow! Sure there is the sideshow of Simple Minds playing live and the running and jumping later but it's Ken that is the star of the show. Give the man a medal now.
The Commonwealth Games is always a bit of a curiosity I think but their big trump card is the friendliness. 'The friendly games' is a great label and seems to make participation a treat. Drivetime will be in Edinburgh in August of course for our Scottish extravaganza but from today it's all about Ken Bruce and Glasgow. And we should of course do COMMONWEALTH GAMES/ FRIENDLY GAMES tunes as our small contribution.
Scottish and Northern Irish schools have been off for a while and this week the last of the English schools pack up for the summer. The magic of the end of term. A Megamosh is called for. You have been warned.
Until 5 then...
