All the 3 worders-going back weeks now-about Christmas shopping/cooking/decorating and how advanced everyone is, finally wore me down and I succumbed to the premature-Yuletide pressures. Can't remember the last time I bought a present in November, so I'm guessing that's never. I returned to R2 swinging my purchase, just so everyone could see how forward thinking I am. This just proved irritating to everyone, including me, so I returned to my more customary slouch.

We are about to be offered many books on the first world war, with next year being the centenary of its start but Max's book 'Catastrophe' lays claim to being the one you need. He's a brilliant writer and came in a couple of years back with his WW2 book and he is a most engaging guest. Don't miss Max!

And oldies please for the smart wig. Yes, thats the SMART WIG. It's not smart in the old, classic sense but smart in the new, connected sense. It is a high-tech hair piece that will 'hide sensors, video cameras and location technology'. It is the latest idea in wearable technology though you might be forgiven for thinking it might struggle a bit. But you might enjoy its musical accompaniments.
