Bert Jansch dies aged 67
Bert Jansch, the legendary Scottish acoustic guitarist, died this morning.
He came to prominence during the sixties folk revival, and as part of the jazz-folk supergroup Pentangle with another guitar maestro, John Renbourn. His distinctive technique of finger-picking and string bending won him admirers from Jimmy Page to Johnny Marr and has been hugely influential. As recently as 2010 he was touring with Neil Young.
We have trawled the BBC Scotland archive for this lovely clip of him playing his own composition, Running From Home, filmed at Glasgow's Old Fruitmarket during Celtic Connections in 2008.
