Louise Jameson Joins River City!

Happy New Year! We want to start 2008 with some exciting news about a new cast member. Louise Jameson is joining the show as Viv, who becomes Shirley's partner-in-crime and business partner at the salon. Her face will be familiar to most of you as she's been in loads of TV shows including Eastenders, Bergerac, Tenko and Dr Who, not to mention films and stage productions.
Louise has already filmed her first scenes, which you can see in March. This is what she has to say: "I was quite nervous about beginning filming, but everything has just been fantastic because of Barbara Rafferty. She's just so lovely and couldn't have been more welcoming. The character of Viv is wonderful - she is everything I'd like to be but don't dare. I'm really enjoying this role because it's so well-written for middle-aged women in today's society. The scenes where Viv and Shirley get drunk and behave badly in the pub have been such a laugh. There's a lot more trouble to come!" We can't wait!
