Jen left Shieldinch to go travelling.
Being Charlie's younger sister, Jennifer also grew up in Gourock with her parents and attended Gourock Academy. Naturally bright, Jennifer has always been a top student, having to put in minimal effort to achieve maximum results. Jennifer was Head Girl and won the Science and English Prizes three years running at school. After achieving her 5 A's at Higher level, Jennifer was accepted to every University she applied to but decided to go to the University of Glasgow to study English. Her parents are very proud of her but her dad has never weighed Jennifer down with expectations the way he has her big brother Charlie. Upon realising that the student life is better spent away from home, she decided to move into Charlie and Innes' flat.
Jennifer Bowie is way past her time. A Flower Power girl at heart, Jennifer is convinced she can make the world a better place. Jennifer is a dedicated vegan and is against animal cruelty amongst other things. Jennifer knows all about human rights and could recite them by heart for hours on end if someone would listen. Her passion for saving the planet is endearing to some, but irritating to others. She is a fun loving, straight-edge girl which attracts others towards her.
Jennifer is blissfully unaware of her beauty which makes her effortless glow even brighter - this causes envy from others, yet Jennifer is completely modest. Having always looked after her brother Charlie, she is considered his 'Younger Older Sister', as she has her feet firmly on the ground and appears to know exactly what she is doing in life - at least on the exterior.
Jennifer's friendship with Amber has been the cause of much confusion for her. It took kind words from Charlie to make her acknowledge the extent of her feelings for her friend. When an old lady living in their close was found dead, Jennifer made it her business to piece the woman's life together and, in doing so, learned a thing or two about herself.
Jennifer's trademark kind heart shone through when she forgave Innes for 'outing' her. The troubled Lee stirred up trouble between his girlfriend Amber and Jen, twisting events to make Amber to think badly of her friend. But loyalty is central to Jen's personality and she stuck by her friend, despite the tensions.
