If you're keen to book a tour of the set then stand by your phone! Tickets become available on Monday, 2 March, from 0900 but they're snapped up really quickly so you'd better be fast.

Peace has been shattered in Shieldinch. The cast and crew returned to work yesterday after a break of a couple of months! It's all go but it's great to see everyone again.

The first stop was the Murdochs' living room but it's not just Lenny and Lydia who are busy; Bob and Deek have been hanging about The Tall Ship, and Daniel's having words with Stuart.

Off-camera, there's a new set nearing completion - we'll reveal more about that soon so watch this space. :)

Two very familiar faces from Shieldinch are starring together in a play in Glasgow next week! Sarah McCardie (Sharon) and Joyce Falconer (Roisin) go head to head in 'Fifteen Minutes', penned by one of River City's writers, Kim Millar. Performances are at Òran Mór, every lunchtime from Monday, 9 February to Saturday, 14 February. Visit the venue's website for more information.

River City Tours 2009

The River City Tours return in June and July 2009, and tickets can be booked from Monday, 2 March. On the tour you will get the chance to walk through Montego Street and explore the front rooms of your favourite characters. You'll also find out more about how a television drama is put together and get the chance to take photos to remind you of your trip to Shieldinch! Please note that places are limited and conditions apply.

Tours take place during the summer break in filming so cast will not be present. Sometimes changes to the sets take place during the summer break so we cannot always guarantee access to every set.

Your tour will last approximately 1.5 hours and does involve a lot of walking so please wear sensible shoes. You will also be on our outside set some of the time so please dress comfortably for the weather. The set is wheelchair accessible.

Each tour can take up to 15 people, but please note that we don't recommend the tour for the under 8s. Any group booked for under 16s must have at least 4 accompanying adults.

Booking

  • Pre-booking is essential.
  • Tours take place every Saturday and Sunday in June & July.
  • BOOKING LINE OPENS MONDAY 2nd MARCH 2009.

Sunday Tour Times

11am; 11.45am; 12.45pm; 1.30pm; 2.30pm; 3.15pm

  • £5.50 adult; £3.75 child/concession
  • Registered charities may book free of charge by supplying their registered charity number at time of booking.
