Wedding Fever

Julie|10:05 UK time, Thursday, 19 June 2008

As one very bright messageboarder put it: move over Coleen and Wayne, it's the wedding of the year tonight! We're already very excited about tonight's nuptials (AND it's episode 600, which is a brilliant milestone) but if you need a nudge into wedding fever, check out these:

Classic Clips - there's a whole section about marriage in there, where you can watch (among many other things) two of Bob's proposals. Will he finally make it up the aisle tonight?

2002 Photo Gallery - Eileen married Tommy in episode one of River City.

2003 Photo Gallery - Bob proposed to Zara in 2003.

2004 Photo Gallery - one of 2004's highlights was the wedding of Roisin and Raymond.

2005 Photo Gallery - in 2005, Ruth went on holiday and returned with a husband, Marty! You can see his arrival in the 2005 gallery, and their wedding blessing in Marty's Downfall. The title of the gallery says it all. We hope tonight's couples last a little longer.

Raymond & Shona's wedding photos - Raymond and Shona married in 2007, only for the groom to discover his bride was already married! They have seven weddings between them!

You'll also find some weddingy pics for your desktop on the wallpapers page. We'll add the double wedding there before they've even done the speeches.

Okay, we have to get to the hairdresser, put on a pretty frock, and collect our corsage. Is it too early to open the champagne?

Interesting Wedding Fact #317

Julie|10:49 UK time, Wednesday, 18 June 2008

Here's a little bit of trivia for you uber-fans out there: the woman who looks after Madonna during the wedding is the baby's real mum! Madonna's played by the very cute Olivia Hegarty and her mum, Lindsay, got a role on the show for the day. That meant wee Olivia was happy when her screen mum and dad were otherwise engaged at the altar! Keep an eye out for her on Thursday night.

Weekend Warning

Julie|18:56 UK time, Thursday, 12 June 2008

Warning: you might want to avoid Scottish newspapers this weekend (14 & 15 June) in case you catch sight of spoilers about the double wedding! We know some of you hate to know what's coming up and we don't want your enjoyment spoiled.

However, if you really can't wait to know, there are some teasers on the Spoilers page right now, and there will be more revealed there on Saturday and Sunday.

As ever, please be careful where you talk about storylines on the messageboard.

Wedding Invitation

Julie|16:05 UK time, Tuesday, 10 June 2008

You are cordially invited to the double wedding of Scarlett Bernadette Adams to James Leslie Mullen, and Charlene Drummond to Robert Adams, on Thursday 19th June 2008. The ceremony will take place in living rooms across Scotland so please be seated by 8pm for optimum entertainment. Confetti is permitted but we regret to inform you nibbles and champagne are not included.

Friends and family should be aware that ceremonies in Shieldinch rarely go without a hitch. Bob has proposed to several women before but has yet to make it to the altar. He and his bride have put many problems behind them, not least their love of opposing football teams, and they truly seem to be made for each other. However, Charlie has been obsessed by this wedding for months... will Bob's last minute nerves spoil their big day?

Scarlett and Jimmy's life together has been rather confused up until now. Scarlett jumped on him after being rejected by her priest (the man who is now with her daughter!), and that one night stand resulted in baby Madonna. The wee girl brought the pair closer together but it was months before they realised they loved each other. Jimmy's confinement to a wheelchair has put added strain on their relationship but, as far as he's concerned, the only problem marring their marriage is his inability to walk down the aisle.

So, don your best hat, grab a box of confetti and a handful of tissues, and get ready for the wedding of the year!
